Mother Theresa

I was reading Mother Theresa Nobel Prize Speech. And as always I tremble when I read the words about abortion. How true it is. How simple.
If our societies are OK with wiping away lives of unborn children then murder becomes something quite accustomed.
I can compare both Poland and UK. In Poland abortion is a banned by law with three exceptions. In UK is opened to everyone.
In Poland euthanasia is not yet discussed by Parliment, in UK it is.
In Poland there is no Liverpool Care pathway and even with such limited healthcare budget every life is worth a battle.

I now look back when I was holding my gran by her hand as she was dying. The doctors/nurses were amazing. They have done all they could to save her life, to help with the pain.
How would she die in the UK? She was a perfect candidate for the LCP. 85-years old, no more than few days left.
She has peacefully died at home, having her family praying for her.

And her death was the biggest lesson I could ask for. It showed me that every life is sacred.
It tough me that- taking someone's life - even if we think we have good reasons for it is NEVER the answer. Life is not always perfect- but it is always sacred.

Mother Theresa's words:
"And today the greatest means - the greatest destroyer of peace is abortion. And we who are standing here - our parents wanted us. We would not be here if our parents would do that to us. Our children, we want them, we love them, but what of the millions. Many people are very, very concerned with the children in India, with the children in Africa where quite a number die, maybe of malnutrition, of hunger and so on, but millions are dying deliberately by the will of the mother. And this is what is the greatest destroyer of peace today. Because if a mother can kill her own child - what is left for me to kill you and you kill me - there is nothing between."

Still no coffee...

It's hard. It's getting harder each day.
I am now drinking my 7th cup of tea.
I had to stop when I was passing a coffee shop. Just for a second. The smell was just so good.
Too good.

Monday without coffee..

This morning I had 8 extra minutes before my train was due. 8 extra minutes!! And wow that's amazing as I am usually speeding trough tickets barriers to get to my train.

And there I was. Glasgow Queen Station opposite to my coffee- heaven- Sturbacks.

It was so difficult to ask for grande Earl Grey instead of my usual grande-extra-shot-americano-with-space-to-go:)

Someone ask me why do I do it?And sometimes when passing by a good coffee shop that questions pops in my head as well. Why do I do it? Because of the cause.

Because I believe that every life is sacred and that life should be protected. And that is worth my coffee:)

Sunday

What a lovely Sunday:)

I have just checked One of Us website and I have seen that they have collected already over 112000 signatures.
Only 887324 signatures left.
But what does this tell me? It tells me that in our dear Europe there are people who love life. There are people that know that every life and every stage shoudl be protected.

I can only sign that petition once but my duty is to spread the news and to pray.
Let us all pray for the end of the culture of death.

So this week please say one small prayer to ask God for the One of Us Initiative to collect much more than just one million of signatures by the required time.

I'll say one Our Father every day. Could you join me?

My charities- SPES

I have written in the past about the charities I am supporting this year.

I would want to write more about SPES.

Imagine cancer or an accident that would happen to your child and left them so ill that they would need 24 hours medical attention. Imagine taking such child home and the bills for oxygen they require to live are more than your salary.

So here it is where SPES steps in. It helps families in great need of financial support who care for a very disabled child.

At the moment SPES is able to support 10 families for one year. Each family will get an equivalent of 100£ a month to help them care for their child. 100£ a month- that extra cash can really improve the care those kids receive.

So my 2£ coffee for today goes to SPES.

Would you be able to send SPES 2£ today as well? Just 2£. Think about it

As for now the website is only in Polish but I am sure it will soon be in English as well. You can visit it at: SPES

Another day without coffee..

Monday morning. Could not get kids ready. The big one was complaining that he has not got his favorite fleece, the small one did not want the purple hat...
But we have managed to get outside. Then we had to heat up the car and scrape all that frost away.
And by the time I was dropped at train station I have only managed to wave bye bye to ma train.
Had to run across the city centre to get another train which would get me to work.
....
Work? computers not working. Just one small thing-but by that 9.30am I needed coffee so much...
oh.. but with God's help I managed to stay coffee free.

So that it goes- another 2£ into my charities fund:)

Friday 15 February 2013

3rd day of Lent

Three days without my lovely coffee...
Three long days, three mornings without the inspiring, waking me up smell;
three days, 37 left.

But that is already about 6£ saved (or 10£ as I would ahve coffee yesterday in the cinema).

And what can be done for 10£. Can 3 days save a human life? Can a 10£ save someone?

It's worth it.

And just to say One of Us has collected 68426 signatures:)
Every signature is so important so please share this. Sign and ask your friends /family to do this same.

See you soon- now I (blee..)

Sunday 10 February 2013

Two days left..

Two days left till Lent.
My coffee smells so good in the morning. Just two days of that pleasure left.

Please give up something small in your life such as coffee, tea, biscuits. Not even for a whole Lent but for one day and please donate the money to one of the pro-life charities.

You could also tidy up from your pockets, wallets all those small change and donate that.
Or you could save by taking packed lunch and donate the difference.

Those small steps can change a lot.

Take on a challenge...

One of Us

I have just checked One of Us website; 64835 signatures. We have till next November to get 1 million. That's 935165 left.
So get your friends, family, pass on the message.
Together we can save life.

Please get as many signatures as you can.

Mater Care International

Why am I supporting  Mater Care International?

Their first paragraph at their website says everything:

"MaterCare is an organization of Catholic health professionals dedicated to the care of mothers and babies, both born and unborn, through new initiatives of service, training, research and advocacy, which are designed to reduce the tragically high rates of maternal mortality, morbidity and abortion.  MCI’s mission is to carry out the work of Evangelium Vitae (the Gospel of Life) by improving the lives and health of mothers and babies both born and unborn, through new initiatives of service, training, research, and advocacy designed to reduce the tragic levels of abortion world-wide and maternal and perinatal mortality, morbidity in developing countries."

When I read that they are not supported by government charities, WHO etc because they do not provide "reproductive services" (i.e. abortion) I was shocked.
MCI saves lives because people like you support them.  So please keep doing so.

Monday 28 January 2013

One of Us

I will keep posting about One of Us.
Please sign this petition and please circulate this to as many people as you can.
Together we can stop UE funding abortion and embryo research.

Please click on the ONE OF US photo and to be redirected to their website.

But what is One of US?

“One of Us” is one of the first registered ECIs in the European Union. It’s goal is to greatly advance the protection of human life from conception in Europe – within the possibilities of the competency of the EU. Based on the definition of the human embryo as the beginning of the development of the human being, which was given in a recent ECJ judgment (Brüstle vs. Greenpeace), “One of Us” asks the EU to end the financing of activities which presuppose the destruction of human embryos, in particular in the areas of research, development aid and public health.
This will be done through a change of the financial regulation of the EU that determines the spending of the EU budget. A ban of such funding will greatly contribute to the consistency within the EU.

We have till 1st November 2013 to collect 1million signatures. Make sure that one of those signatures is yours.

This year's charities

At the very beginning of my lenten journey I have decided to choose three charities this year.

The first charity is of course Cardinal Winning Pro-life Initiative.
Why?
Because they do amazing things. They are there for those pregnant mums who struggle, they offer emotional, spiritual and financial help.

The second charity is Mater Care- it's a catholic charity which provides help for mothers and their babies where it is necessary. It's mission is to carry out the work of Evangelium Vitae (the Gospel of Life)- so tied in with what the firs charity is doing.

The third charity is SPES (it's a Polish Charity) which  takes care of very ill kids who require 24hrs attention and medical treatment.

More about them coming very soon.

Lent is so close

Hi.

It's almost a year. Great time enjoying my lovely coffee.
But...Lent is just over the corner and another challenge is in front of me.

As last year I'll battle with 40 days coffee-free. Can you imagine that? I cant. And all people who know me, know also how difficult it is going to be.

But it's the life cause and I'll do everything it takes to get LIFE of everyone protected.

So- are you with me this year?

If you also want LIFE protected please go on to ONE OF US initiative website and sign the petition.
Please do so now, please don't wait.

Let us show European Union that we care about life and that we care what they do to protect it.

so... Go on and SIGN:
http://www.oneofus.eu/

See you soon:)
