Coffee, coffee

Still going on... but at this moment I am certain that it is through the Grace of God that I am able to abstain from coffee rather than my own effort.
I would have fallen few times but the Strong Hand of God holds me.

27 long days

Yes.
I have just counted the days before Easter. 27days.
Am I crazy? I dont think so. I just love my coffee.

Sunday 11 March 2012

3rd Sunday

I have send my hubby to the shop yesterday to buy some cake. And he come back with a coffee cake.
I have look at this lovely cake and said: "no, I cant eat it you."
It's difficult but I'll do it for the prolife movement.

Thursday 8 March 2012

8th of March

I am sorry to be silent for few days. I have cought a cold and had so much work to do.

My coffee giving up is still going. It's difficult to travel on train in the mornings when the carriage is filled up with the smell of coffee.

And today I also want to wish Happy Women Day.
It is this feast that I want to stop at.
Women Day. This is the day that Feminist were having talks in Polish Parliment about rights for reproductive health care. And lets call it by its name- right to kill innocent children.

But do we really want this?
Do we want a right to kill our own children? Do we?

If we are honest about it. If we leave aside this "my choice,my freedom" talk. If we look deep into our hearts as God has made them then we'll find answer to womanhood. That never-ending unconditional love that Creator has written into our hearts.
We are made in His Image. We are create to love and to bring life to this Earth. Not to end life, not to hate.

That is why I support protesters from Fundacja Pro who were standing in front of the Parliment today to shout that nothing is more important than Human Life and no one has a right to take life of unborn innocent children.

So please support Women today especially those little unborn ones.

25th Of March

25th of March is the Feast of Annunciation. It is an important day when Mary teaches us to say YES. To say YES to the new life. To say YES to God's gift- a child.

Today many innocent lives are wiped away because of abortion. And as Mary we have to say YES.
We have to defend human life from the moment of conception to natural death.

So will you say YES?

In my Homeland that day- 25th of March is the beginning for many people of Spiritual Adoption. Wonderful idea, wonderful prayer which saves human lives.

One prayes for 9 months for an unborn baby who's life is in danger. (Prayer ends on Christmas Day if you start on 25th March).

To read more about it visit:
Spiritual Adoption www.spiritualadoption.org

Please say YES this year.

Train time

I have just started my Outreach week.
And this week means getting 08:08 train from Central Station.
I was almost late for my train - as usual every Monday. I was running towards my platform and then I had to stop...

It was coffee. It was that intense smell of freshly brewed coffee.
If that would be non-lenten day I would definetely give in. I'd rather be late for that train than to miss that cup of loveliness.

And then this evening I had another temptation. My husband (who alsmost never drinks coffee) walked into the kitchen and asked me for cappuccino.
It was a torture.

I wish I could write it's already halfway through but I am not even there.

I pray to my Angel to keep me in this strong will (as I know my will is everything but strong).

Sunday 4 March 2012

2nd Sunday of Lent

I was reading article in today's newspaper how Britain is shocked that some doctors perform gender selective abortions.
And I ask myself: why is anyone shocked? Why? Why do they think that aborting disabled child or an unwanted child is any better than aborting a child because someone does not like their gender? What is the difference?

I cannot see any difference.
Taking life from an unborn person because he or she is disabled is as unjust and cruel as aborting them because of their gender.
Who are we to decide about someone elses life?

Today is the Transfiguration Sunday. And I pray that people's hearts will be changed to be more welcoming to the unborn little people.

Mother Theresa: "Any country that accepts abortion, is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what it wants."

Saturday 3 March 2012

Saturday

I figured it out. Mornings are worst.
I keep drinking tea but it doesnt help.
But I am still going.

Thursday 1 March 2012

Coffee

It was usual Thursday.
Morning at home and afternoon at uni. I had one hour to spare which I usually would use to go and have a good cup of coffee.
But instead I had a bottle of water.

My prolife money fund is growing.

10 am- Prayer Time

Today at 10 am (British Time) please pray for those who stand in front of Hospital Bielanski Warsaw to defend life of disabled children.
This is the hospital who praised itself in killing unborn children with Down Syndrome from the whole Poland.
Sometimes other hospital would refuse abortion but not this one.
In 2010 610 disabled children were killed in Poland. That's almost two lives every day.

So please pray to end that injustice

Wednesday 29 February 2012

One week

It's only one week without coffee. I won't be lying- IT IS DIFFICULT.

But I am looking at my small box which is filling up with my "coffee money" and I know that I am ding the right thing.
Have you ever been stopped by those people on the street who ask you to give to charities. They say that one cup of coffee can save a life. Well- I think they're right.

I am also praying more than ever for the prolife cause. There are two actions I would like to mention:

- 40 days for LIFE. Amazing powerful prayer which last for 40 days and nights.
In Poland similar action was taken. However people who pray do not stand in front of the hospitals of clinics. They pray in their homes at every hour of the day and night.
You can register at the website and you are given one hour to pray for thos eunborn children.
Amazing and powerful prayer.

- Fundacja Pro is again (as every Thursday) gathering in front of the hospital where they kill children with Down Syndrome. (Poland).
They will start at 11am (10am British Time) tomorrow.
For that time I am heading to the Church and I would be grateful if you could join others and me in this prayer.

Tuesday 28 February 2012

Another morning

It's another morning without coffee. It is getting harder and harder each day.
I just can't even think how I am going to pass by Starbucks not poping in.
I could go in and order a cup of tea but who is drinking teas in Sturbacks???

Monday 27 February 2012

Monday Morning

I am at home with my little son as he is not well today.
After "not so well slepth through" night coffee is the only thing I want.

I would usually visit Starbucks. I would order tall Americano extra shot plus space for milk and sit in to enjoy good book and wonderful coffee.

Sunday 26 February 2012

1st Sunday

Bitter Sorrow or Bitter Lamentation. That's the name of beautiful lenten Polish devotion.
It contains many hymns which reflect upon Jesus Christ Suffering. There is also a conversation of faithful soul and Mary, Mother of God.

You can read more about it here: Gorzkie Zale

And that was (after Mass of course) the highlight of this Sunday. The words and music are powerful. They shake your soul to the inner depths. You step into that Mistery Of Christ Suffering.

And coffee??
Well... It's not easy to taste my lovely mother-in-law cakes without it.
But I pray to God for strenght.

Movie

Hi

I have recently watched amazing movie. It's about Wanda Poltawska- close friend of John Paul II.
It's a story which tries to explain how love can change our lives. It talks about important issues.
It's called Duska and has subtitles in English and Spanish.

I would reccomend this movie. It really is special.

Day 4

Still without coffee:)
But temptation this morning was so huge.

Fundacja Pro is doing weekly meetings in front of one of the hospital in Poland (Warsaw). Even thou abortion is illigal in Poland it is still "OK" to take life of disabled children. In this hospital they kill Children with Down Syndrome.
Raport from last action was very promising. More peoplethan usually turned up and passerby were very encouraging.

Please keep them in your Prayers as they are doing amazing job

Headache

Hello

I have battled with headache the whole day. I tried to drink as much water as possible but nothing really helped.
Hopefully my body will get use to it.

And my wee paper box is starting to fill up with my saved coffee money:)

And I also pray that God may end this culture of death. I pray for those mothers, their babies. For those doctors who perform abortions.

100 Masses for Life Campaign

Taken from Cardinal Winning ProLife Initiative website:

Pat Sammon, an SPUCactivist, is promoting a “100 Masses for life” campaign. She writes:

“Dear friend in Christ,

Please would you consider having one Holy Mass offered during Lent (Feb 22nd-April 7th) for the following intention:-
FOR AN END TO THE ‘CULTURE OF DEATH’ AND THE CONVERSION OF HEARTS.
By any priest of your choice. Please request that the intention is publicly announced, not just as a ‘private intention’
In order to assess the success of this campaign, please confirm Mass and venue if possible:

Ash Wednesday

Lent has just started today and so my "coffee giving up".
Is it easy?
No,it's not.

It is in fact very difficult. But I really want to do it to support those charities.

And thank you to all of those who support me in that.

Monday 20 February 2012

Charities

The first two charities I want to raise money for are:
Cardinal Winning Prolife Initiative and Fundacja Nazaret (Nazareth Charity in Poland).

Why I have chosen those two?
1. They are both pro-life.
And I believe that today this is the greatest battle and the most important issue. Human life is today disregarded, small unborn children are being killed every single day in the name of the law. Life begins at the moment of conception. There is no if's or but's. It is simple. So simple.
2. They are both practical.
Both of the charities reach a helpful hand to mothers who found themselves in difficult position. They help in every practical aspect of life. They understand that times are difficult and that saving life means for example to provide necessary clothes etc.
3. They both put Prayer at the heart of their mission.
Once I have heard a beautiful sentence:
"With the power of Jesus do what is impossible, because what's possible everyone can do".
Prayer/faith coupled with hard work can "move mountains".
Whatever cannot be done in human terms- God can always solve.

There is also one more charity (In Poland as well) called Fundacja Pro.
Why do I want to support them?
Because at the moment they seem to pull all prolife movements together. They are not afraid to stand and defend their believes. This charity is also fighting so hard for lives of disabled children. They organize weekly gatherings in front of the hospital where children with Down Syndrome are being killed.

Children are dying every single day. They are dying in the hospitals, their lives are being taken by their parents and doctors. All done in the name of "someone's choice".
We have to fight and stand against this crime. We have defend human life, we have to assist pregnant mothers who need help and we have to pray to Our Merciful Father to end this culture of death.

Sunday 19 February 2012

Last three days

I am getting ready for this coming Lent season.

I have already assembled little paper box to put my coffee money in.
And there will be no exuses as I know exactly how much I spend on my coffee thanks to my Sturbacks registered card.

I have been also asked by one charity in Poland for baby clothes which are urgently needed but I will post you about that.

God bless

Saturday 18 February 2012

Getting ready

It's Saturday.
I already had two cups of my favourite Colombia sturbacks Coffee.

I have checked my balance and I am only three stars from my Free Cup :)

Thursday 16 February 2012

Idea

People go on about sponsoring different charities. And I always wanted to do something wortwhile. I always thought that it would be cool to do some abseiling, extreme sports etc and to raise money.
But then one evening I sat down and realized that it would be more diffucult to give up something I really love and to help other.
And then I shruk: "oh no". I thought. The thing I love is coffee. And then I had milion excuses not to give it up.

As I am writing it and getting prepared I sit with my Starbucks cup which is filled with Colombia Caffee Via (of course milk and no sugar) and I cant even think that in a week time I will be sitting here with no coffee.

I will write about my struggle, I'll write about the chrities I have chosen and the idea they represent.
I'll write why I am prolife and why I think what I am doing is worthwhile.

I'll also pray for all of you who read this and who support the charities.

May God bless you.
